NORTH OF KOSOVO DOES NOT ACCEPT AGREEMENT WITH PRISTINA
May 10, 2013. / AkademediasrbijaZvecan - The agreement on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is not acceptable for the Serbs in the north of Kosovo and Metohija and they will not participate in its implementation, the deputies of the four municipalities from northern Kosovo concluded at their joint session in Zvecan on May 8.
During a debate and in the conclusions, they reiterated that the agreement is "harmful" and that it does not guarantee "the minimum of conditions for life". This is why they requested that the Constitutional Court of Serbia declare its position on it.
The agreement is not acceptable for the Serbs south of the River Ibar, either, stated the chief of the Strpce municipality, Zvonko Mihajlovic, who attended the session of the deputies from northern Kosovo, together with the chiefs of the municipalities of Vucitrn, Orahovac, Lipljan and Pristina.
The deputies sent a letter from the joint session in Zvecan, to Russian officials, in which they requested Russia, as a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council, to help return the negotiations on Kosovo under the auspices of the U.N.
The deputies adopted eight conclusions which, among other things, point out that the agreement from Brussels is unacceptable, that it has been politically extorted and that it is against the Constitution, that its implementation is harmful for the state and national interests and that the chiefs of the municipalities and the chief of the District pledged to honor the decisions and stands of the municipal assemblies in the talks with Serbian government representatives.
