Delta Holding President Miroslav Mišković stated on Friday that the talks regarding the sale of retail chain Delta Maxi would be completed in a month.

He also announced that the funds from the sale would be invested in the development of agriculture.

At the ceremony to mark the 20th anniversary of Delta Holding, which was also attended by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković, Mišković pointed out that agriculture was “Serbian oil,” noting that revenues from the export of agriculture products could significantly improve Serbia's export balance and external trade deficit.

He announced that Delta Holding planed to invest in real estate business in 2011 and hinted that the years to come would see the opening of new shopping malls in Belgrade, Novi Sad, Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Niš, as well as new business and residential facilities both in Serbia and the region.

Mišković repeated that Delta Holding had laid the cornerstone on Thursday for the new accommodation and day care centre for children with disabilities, which was the company's first but not the last endowment for the future.

The celebration of the Delta Holding anniversary was attended by Republic of Srpska President Milorad Dodik and Prime Minister Aleksandar Džombić, Russian Ambassador Aleksandr Konuzin and German Ambassador Wolfram Maas, as well as by numerous representatives of Serbian economy, banks and government institutions.

The gathering was addressed by CEO of the Italian Generali Group Sergio Balbinot.
